How Do I Activate SQL Server?
- Download the SQL Server ISO for this edition from the link below.
- Run setup.exe and choose a new installation, or Maintenance > Edition Upgrade if it is already installed.
- Enter the 25-character product key when setup asks for it.
- Finish the wizard — the edition is licensed once setup completes.

If I reinstall, can I reuse the licence?
Yes, on the same computer. The key can be re-entered after a reinstall, within the PC count of this licence.
Is the licence permanent?
Yes. It is a one-time purchase with no subscription and no renewal fee.
The key does not work — what should I do?
- Check the key was typed exactly as delivered, without extra spaces.
- Make sure the installed edition matches this licence exactly (edition, version and bit count) and is not an Evaluation build.
- Still stuck? Contact us within the warranty period and we replace the key one-to-one.
